Welcome to Cove Calligraphy Ltd. By browsing through our website, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions, which together with our privacy policy clarify our relationship with you.
Your use of our Cove Calligraphy Ltd website is subject to the laws of England and Wales. The content of this Terms and Conditions page is subject to change without notice but we will always keep it within all relevant legislation.
TERMS OF SALE
Ordering with us is easy – just browse our store, add any items you wish to buy to your basket, add any personalisation details where necessary and checkout.
When placing an order, you undertake that all details you provide to us are true and accurate, that you are an authorised user of the payment method used to place your order and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the goods. Full payment is required before your order can be dispatched.
We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently remove any item from our website at any time. In the unlikely event that you purchase an item that has been removed, due to a crossover in timing, we will refund you in full as soon as possible.
IMAGES
Please note that due to the nature of our products there may be variation between your item and the listing photograph i.e. grain of wood may be darker or lighter. As all our calligraphy is done by hand, the font will vary slightly from item to item, and this is to be expected with a personalised gift. We reserve the right to use images of your particular gift if we feel it is something that other customers may like. Please get in touch ASAP if you would prefer us not to use photographs of your item.
PERSONALISATION
Please take great care when typing your message for personalisation, as spelling or punctuation mistakes cannot be rectified once work has started on your order. We would suggest getting another person to check spelling etc for you, as we will not correct spelling mistakes or punctuation errors – we will engrave it exactly as you type it.
Our calligraphy font is designed by us and we reserve the right to adjust the size of letters, flourishes etc to fit on each particular item as we see fit at the time of engraving. If you would prefer a different style of font, please get in touch to discuss this.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Customers receiving our gifts through the post should take the necessary care when opening to prevent injury to themselves or others from the enclosed item – an example of this is (but is not limited to) glass that may have become broken in transit. All our gifts should be treated with due care and attention when being used, carried or displayed, as we cannot accept responsibility or liability if a gift causes injury or damage to a person or property through improper use or sufficient care not being taken. Please also be advised that any claims made against Cove Calligraphy Ltd can be brought only through a UK court system and administered/settled only by UK law.
Care instructions for specific products are included on the individual listings and customers should familiarise themselves with these before purchasing.
PRICES
Prices are as displayed on our website. We may be able to offer a discount on a bulk purchase, please get in touch to discuss this before ordering. We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. This would usually be due to an increase or decrease in the price we pay for the item from our suppliers.
PAYMENT
When your order is placed through our website, you will be re-directed to PayPal (where you can choose to pay by credit/debit card if you wish) where your payment will be processed using the highest levels of security. No card details will be saved on our website.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
Please note that personalised items are non-refundable and non-returnable, as they are supplied to order. Please contact us for any further advice on this matter.
However, there may be times when items arrive damaged due to problems in transit or delivery. Customers must inform us within 2 days of delivery to receive a replacement order of that item, or a refund for the item. Items will be replaced at no cost to you once we received evidence of damaged goods. Evidence can be provided by emailing a photograph to us of the damaged items. We will refund if you wish. If the fault is ours, we will replace or refund immediately. If the item is no longer in stock, we will refund you in full.
CANCELLATION POLICY
All orders are completed as quickly as possible, therefore it is important that you check your order carefully for spelling errors etc, as once work has started, we cannot offer a refund or cancellation. We would recommend asking someone else to check spelling, punctuation etc if you have any concerns. We will NOT correct spelling mistakes for you, we will engrave it exactly as you have typed it.
PROCESSING AND DELIVERY
We hand engrave each item to order, and processing times may vary according to workload, but in general we try to complete orders in 1-3 days.
Christmas, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are our busiest times of the year, and processing will inevitably take longer during these peak periods. Please get in touch if you are worried about delivery times and we will advise you.
We will always try to start work on your order as quickly as possible, and will get in touch with you if there are any unforeseen reasons for a delay.
If you need to alter any aspect of your order, please contact us as soon as possible, as once work has begun, we cannot cancel or refund your order.
UK SHIPPING TIMES
For orders being sent to a UK address, we use First Class Royal Mail as standard, which according to Royal Mail should arrive in 1-3 days, although they will not guarantee this. As delays can happen and can also be unforeseen, Cove Calligraphy Ltd can accept no liability for any delay or failure to deliver within the estimated time-scales. We offer the facility to upgrade to Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day by 1pm – this upgrade is available available when you reach the checkout stage on our website.

COOKIES
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files containing a string of characters that can be placed on your computer or mobile device that uniquely identify your browser or device.
What are cookies used for?
Cookies allow a site or services to know if your computer or device has visited that site or service before. Cookies can then be used to help understand how the site or service is being used, help you navigate between pages efficiently, help remember your preferences, and generally improve your browsing experience. Cookies can also help ensure marketing you see online is more relevant to you and your interests.
What types of cookies does this site use?
There are generally four categories of cookies: “Strictly Necessary,” “Performance,” “Functionality,” and “Targeting.” Our website may include the use of all four categories of cookies. You can find out more about each cookie category below.
Strictly Necessary Cookies. These cookies are essential, as they enable you to move around the Service and use its features, such as accessing logged in or secure areas.
Performance Cookies. These cookies, when applicable, collect information about how you have used our website, for example, information related to the unique username you have provided, so that less strain is placed on our backend infrastructure. These cookies may also be used to allow us to know that you have logged in so that we can serve you fresher content than a user who has never logged in. We also use cookies to track aggregate website usage and experiment with new features and changes on the website. The information collected is used to improve how the website works.
Functionality Cookies. These cookies allow us to remember how you’re logged in, whether you chose to no longer see advertisements, whether you made an edit to an article on the website while logged out, when you logged in or out, the state or history of website tools you’ve used. These cookies also allow us to tailor the website to provide enhanced features and content for you and to remember how you’ve customised the website in other ways. The information these cookies collect may be anonymous, and they are not used to track your browsing activity on other sites or services.
Targeting Cookies. When applicable, we or other third party partners may use these types of cookies to deliver advertising that is relevant to your interests. These cookies can remember that your device has visited a site or service, and may also be able to track your device’s browsing activity on other sites or services other than ours. This information may be shared with organisations outside our website, such as advertisers and/or advertising networks to deliver the advertising, and to help measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign, or other business partners for the purpose of providing aggregate Service usage statistics and aggregate Service testing.
How long will cookies stay on my device?
The length of time a cookie will stay on your computer or mobile device depends on whether it is a “persistent” or “session” cookie. Session cookies will only stay on your device until you stop browsing. Persistent cookies stay on your computer or mobile device until they expire or are deleted.
First and third party cookies
First-party cookies are cookies that belong to this website, third-party cookies are cookies that another party places on your device through our website. Third-party cookies may be placed on your device by someone providing a service for our website, for example to help us understand how our website is being used. Third-party cookies may also be placed on your device by our business partners so that they can use them to advertise products and services to you elsewhere on the Internet.
How to control and delete cookies
Consult your devices instructions for deleting cookies or setting your own cookie rules. Such settings will usually be under Internet or Browsing settings. Note that if you set your browser to disable cookies, you may not be able to access certain parts of our website and other parts of our website may not work properly.
